Africa Data Dissemination Service -- ADDS -- USGS
ADDS provides 1 km. ground resolution AVHRR imagery for Namibia.  This service includes free downloadable software for image interpretation, an online imagery index, basic maps and an increasing amount of agricultural production data.  Some 10-day averages of vegetation information (NDVI) are available from 1982 to the present.  ADDS includes regional and continent-wide imagery compilations.
 

Department of Physical Geography Environmental Research in Africa, University of Lund, Sweden
This site compiles geographic data for Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tunisia, Tanzania, and recently, Namibia and South Africa. The Lund ERA program stresses remote sensing and GIS technologies and methods for studying desertification and climate issues.
