Naperville's Exchange Club's Ribfest in Naperville, Illinois, July 2-5, 2009.

Historical traditions for the Fourth are found in Bristol, Rhode Island with its annual parade and Drum & Bugle Corps competition.

An exciting place to hear the 1812 Overture complete with artillery, bells, and fireworks is in Richmond, Virginia, with the Richmond Concert Band at Dogwood Dell. The bells are played by Larry Robinson on the WWI Memorial's carillon in Byrd Park.

Some Down Home Events

An outstanding 44th annual USA Independence Day parade will take place on July 4 in Arlington, Texas. The theme is "Commemorating Our National Monuments and Memorials."

LibertyFest 2009 in Edmond, Oklahoma, is cited as one of the best ten places to be on Independence Day by CNN and USA Today.

Southport, North Carolina, is billed as the location for the official 2009 North Carolina Festival. "The American Tribute," or silent sky fireworks display is a feature of this program.
