Towards Effective Foresight in the U.S. Government (1980) Developing a computer simulation model which leads to published work is a major research task, quite apart from the publications which are subsequently based upon it. A typical model may involve as many as three to five hundred equations, a thousand variables and require the estimation of five hundred or more parameters. The models listed here, with the exception of the last have all provided the basis for major publications. In the case of the Lake Erie and Global Models, the impact has been significant. Satisfaction Mechanism for the Urban Dynamics Model (With T. Pelsoci). January, 1972. The basis for a major national-level policy study, as noted above.
